How big is the risk of using orthene on an orchid that has never been treated with it before? I'm also concerned about using it inside and it being dangerous to myself or my dogs. Perhaps taking the orchid outside to treat it and then let it be outside for a while to make sure fumes are avoided would be the way to go..Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

So glad you are back. I was seriously getting worried about you. Was even thinking asking Nelson if he had heard from you😱. My 2 orchid stands got knocked down by the wind, orchids all over the place and I had to go in pouring rain and dangerous wind, to try to rescue them😫🙏🥰

Shouldn't you use a clear plastic pot? I'm also new to this so I could be wrong but orchid pots are usually clear aren't they?

You should consider putting extra media on your tree mounted orchid, especially for dendrobium. If you can get yourself a whole coconut husk, that would be the best. Try it on a couple of your orchid and you will see a lot of different. I'm from South East Asia, we have too much rain here in monsoon season, but we still need moisture retaining media for the dry season.

Rain is good! But too much causes damage to all plants. Still nice blooms❤

Hi Blanca, orchids look good for the heavy rains. We had some pretty heavy rains also, yards under water but I’ll tell you those orchids are mighty Stubborn, all hung on. Some blooms fell off, to wet, but we will survive. Hope all is well my friend.❤️❤️❤️

The Vanda (in your thumbnail) you moved under your terrace is GORGEOUS ! that Raspberry color is so intense. Blanca; I know you love your Hoya's... but they just look so untidy (IF) you could keep them trimmed back in hanging baskets might be better.
